This is the six glowing faces. One addressable RGB LED chain, ONE data wire, software lights any pixel any colour — 12 px per face × 6 faces = 72 px, so ×2 is required maths, not a spare (one 60-LED metre is 12 px short). Cut into six 12-px segments, chain up the spine: speaker's face solid-bright, others at 5%, idle = slow breathing through all six. Highest charisma per ¥ in the build. Better if the stall has them:WS2812B 12位 RGB 灯环 ×6 (12-LED rings) = exactly 72 px, no cutting or re-soldering, and round like a face. Rings win on time, strips win on price.
the strip's four unglamorous companions — skip them and the glow flickers or the Pi browns out mid-demo. Shifter: Pi's 3.3V data → 5V the strip trusts · 330Ω in series on the data line · 1000µF across 5V/GND where power enters the strip · USB-A pigtail powers the LEDs from the power bank's second port — never through the Pi's 5V pin (72 px ≈ 2A at our 50% brightness cap). 🤝 Short on budget — the sponsor ask
Gap ≈ ¥500–900. Three doors, in order — use at Woocon 1 (today 15:00) and at check-in tomorrow:

2 · A parts sponsor (~¥800): what they get — logo/thanks ON the totem at Demo Day + the Maker Festival (24th, 100–300 people) + it travels to Devcon Mumbai (thousands). A Huaqiangbei stall, a track partner, or a fellow builder's company all qualify. The totem literally speaks the sponsor's thank-you in six voices.
3 · DRK Lab (the inviter): they already sponsor the trip — a ¥800 parts add-on with "supported by DRK Lab" on the base is a natural, tiny extension. Ask 石佳芸 (Jiayun Shi) only if doors 1–2 close.
📦 Buying it online instead — 京东 JD & 淘宝 Taobao
Everything on this list exists on JD. The question is never stock — it's whether it lands before Demo Day (Thu 23). JD tells you per item: tap 京东物流 + 配送时效 → 当日达/明日达 and only buy what carries that badge. 自营 in Shenzhen = same/next day; 第三方商家 = JD's own policy says 48h to even ship, 3–7 days to arrive. Most Pi/sensor flagship stores are 第三方.
⚠️ Two traps in the 树莓派 search results:
树莓派 Pico / RP2040 kits (~¥329) — a Pico is a microcontroller, not a computer. No Linux, ~264KB RAM. It cannot run our stack. The words "Raspberry Pi" in the title are the only match.
鲁班猫 / LubanCat RK3588 (~¥2,164) — a real Linux board, but 3× our whole budget and our GPIO code assumes Pi.

🧧 淘宝 Taobao — the same search strings, one different filter
The keywords above work identically on Taobao, and Taobao is cheaper than JD for every passive on this list — because half the sellers are Huaqiangbei stalls. That is also the escape from the shipping problem: set 发货地 (ships-from) = 深圳 and a same-city order typically lands next day. Without that filter, standard Taobao is 3–7 days and useless to us.
Recipe: search the 中文 string → 筛选 → 发货地 → 深圳 → sort by 销量 (volume, not price — the ¥1 listings are bait) → prefer 天猫/旗舰店 for anything that must be genuine. Check each listing's 发货时间 promise before paying.
Payment: Taobao needs an account + Alipay; a foreign Visa/Mastercard linked to Alipay has worked since 2023, with roughly a 3% cross-border fee. Delivery to a hotel/hostel inside China is normal — put the floor and a reachable phone number on the address.
💳 Before you build a cart: domestic JD needs WeChat Pay / Alipay / a Chinese card (a foreign Visa bound inside WeChat Pay works). global.jd.com takes foreign cards but it's the cross-border portal — useless for next-day. Couriers call: use the hostel address with floor + a number someone will answer. The 国家补贴 / 以旧换新 banners need a mainland ID — assume they're not for you.
💡 Market tips
Test before paying: ask the stall to power the Pi (they all have cables) — dead boards get sold to foreigners.
One stall, whole basket: module stalls carry LED strips + TTP223 + wires + switches; bundle for the discount.
Pay by Alipay/WeChat — cash sometimes "has no change."
Keep receipts/photos of every purchase — for the sponsor and for ShanHaiWoo reimbursement if the kit ask lands retroactively.
Skip-list if squeezed: servo → acrylic (use cardboard + paper) → second LED strip → ReSpeaker (USB puck fine).
